The benefits

If there were to be a survey across the globe asking whether people go to school or homeschool, you will find that most children do go to school. However, due to Covid and other viruses, the tides are turning: people are suddenly choosing homeschooling and ditching school. Thus, homeschooling seems to be on the rise. This means that if the pandemic situation gets more severe, schools may be soon extinct.

One of the huge reasons why homeschooling is so notable across the world is competition. If competition between people occurs, one person may feel inferior than the other and the person who feels inferior also feels bad about herself/himself. For instance, a person who goes to an inferior school may be looked down upon by students from another school but more superior. In this case, the person who feels inferior will later also feel embarrassed and bad in terms of himself/herself. In order to avoid competition, homeschooling will be satisfactory.

Another benefit of homeschooling is tailored education. This means that parents and students have the authority to customise education. For instance, at school, some people may excel at science, art, computer science and games just to name a few and may as well be a genius whilst the other classmates don’t. However, math and English is the main focus in school making that child subordinate. Most people who homeschool chose to homeschool to avoid this unjust event. School isn’t designed for some people, they standardize the learning for the special few intellectual minds. At school, there just aren't any diverse opportunities.

When children go to school, they often miss their parents and siblings even after a short period of time. When homeschooling, though, they can study without any distractions and thoughts while being surrounded by your loved ones. Likewise, have you ever wanted to eat anything other than a sandwich at school? You can eat anything other than that at lunch at home if you homeschool. For instance, my mother used to pack me 1 sandwich and some snacks. Nevertheless, that wasn’t enough. I wanted to eat pasta and ice-cream but my mother didn’t have enough time. Thus, when I started homeschooling, it was like a dream.

Although homeschooling does sound like a dream to me, other people may not have a choice and might have to go to school since both his/her parents go to work. This means children cannot achieve homeschooling and will have to go to school. I have a father who goes to the office twice a week and works from home thrice a week. However, we students go to school from Monday - Friday 5 times a week without any option. In addition, there are people who work part time and full time. So why don’t students get any of those options?
