Space: Is the money worth it?

One small step for a man, one big leap for mankind
Space: Is the money worth it?
"One small step for a man, one big leap for mankind" - Neil Armstrong

What can space exploration achieve?

Mankind has infinite curiosity and are attempting to encounter everything whilst also wanting to uncover the barriers that surround them. One of these “barriers” is space. It is obvious that the more we know about our surroundings, The better we can navigate them and their potential dangers. Therefore, many organizations across Earth are continuously trying to gather more information about it. On Earth, it is now inevitable that Climate Change is worsening, aggravating rising sea levels and ecological destruction. A thorough reconnaissance of space and discovering uncharted habitats could be one of the plausible solutions. Space exploration is vital to mitigate potential planetary predicament from a curbing space object. Many asteroids nearly hit our planet but none have succeeded in hitting the surface. I expect that, with space exploration, humans may be able to travel around the Milky Way galaxy on a whim. However, we will need to start heading towards this distant dream because a hazard may be approaching us fast.

Do you think that space exploration is a worthwile venture for humans to take?

Space exploration is undoubtedly a worthwhile venture for humans to take as it is jubilant and thrilling. Human nature dictates that we will always want more and be endlessly curious. Although space exploration is likely to be an endless endeavour, unveiling new information and overcoming difficult challenges brings tremendous joy.

Are you impressed by how far the Voyagers have traveled?

Launched in 1977, there were many people who doubted and denied that the Voyagers would accomplish their goals. However, the discouragements did not meet its point and the Voyager Twins completed their mission too well. In fact, not only did they complete their mission, but they also sent photos of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and even Neptune by making up their own new task and have been working on it ever since. This unprecedented move left many people in controversy since the Voyagers were designed to last for only 5 years and follow only one mission - that was 43 years ago. This proved the Voyagers to cover more area than any other spacecraft’s and satellite’s max limit. Therefore, I am confident to say that I am very impressed by how optimistically far the Voyager Twins have traveled.
