The Titanic

The grandest and most opulent ship is arguably the RMS Titanic. Why is the Titanic which has lain in the ocean for more than a century still intriguing numerous people globally today? The Titanic encapsulates each individual's fascinating stories ranging from the poor to the rich in the early 1900s. Due to the unsolved calamity, there remains many mysterious questions.
The Titanic was a cruise so grand that you may consider this was the precursor to ship evolution. It's architect, Thomas Andrew, is the most brilliant ship architect of all time. However, one thing led to another and some safety equipment designed for both the crew and passengers onboard was compromised. For instance, his colleagues requested about 64 lifeboats on board. Nevertheless, Andrew turned down the request and instead installed 16 lifeboats on the ship in order to make the Titanic’s deck less cluttered. This was a great oversight as it took time to dispatch the lifeboats and get everyone to safety subsequently after the Titanic met its tragic end of commission.
Around 4 days after the Titanic’s departure, the Titanic hit an iceberg. Although the ship was considered to be unsinkable before, it became apparent that the Titanic was just like other ships. There are many explanations for why and how the Titanic met its tragic conclusion. Some are particularly bizarre and state that the Titanic did not strike an iceberg but a submarine sunk it. This was not quite convincing considering the fact that submarines were not fully revised and tested in the past. Some claim a mirage was the main cause that the Titanic sank as the ship was sailing across the Atlantic Ocean. A mirage is an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions mostly happening in warm and cold territories. Thus, 1, 500 people lost their lives, including the ship designer, a famous writer, and the richest man onboard. A tragic event indeed.
The RMS Titanic departed on the 10th of April, 1912: bound to sink with 1,500 lives onboard. After this happened, a law was enacted stating that from then on, ships will be required to have enough lifeboats for the occupants on the ship to minimize the chance of getting the same consequences as the Titanic. From then on, the chances of ships sinking gradually decreased over the years. Although searchers did find the Titanic and removed some items, the Titanic still sleeps peacefully in the depths of the ocean. Shall we get our diving suits on and venture down to the Titanic?
