Band of Brothers: a short character analysis
Colonel Sinks
While reading one of my favourite books, the Band of Brothers written by Stephen E. Ambrose, a character resonated and stayed in my head. Colonel Sinks was a well-respected figure by both officers and enlisted men in E company which was founded in WW2. Due to his presence, he broke the world record of marching for 118 miles with his company. Without him, E company would have been likely to be easily knocked down by the enemy forces. Despite being tough on his fellow comrades, he expected the soldiers to do their maximum limit and kept encouraging his men to try and do their best, determined to have the most defensive and strong company in the world. Therefore, most enlisted men training with Sinks felt bad whenever they let him down.
